The world has probably never been as united as the fight against coronavirus has made it.<\/p>\n
In the news, on social networks and on the Internet, we see empty shelves in markets every day – in Georgia and other countries around the world.<\/p>\n
Of course, panic has put antiseptics at the top of the list of scarce products. However, one of the most important rules for protecting against viruses is hand disinfection.<\/p>\n
That is why we decided to share with you a simple recipe that you can easily make at home and which is recommended by the World Health Organization.<\/p>\n
But first, a few things you should know about hand antiseptics:<\/p>\n
In order to destroy viruses and germs as much as possible, the product must contain at least 60% alcohol.<\/p>\n
Despite the high alcohol content, antiseptics will not be effective on dirty skin, so frequent hand washing is mandatory along with disinfection. According to WHO recommendations, we should wash our hands for an average of 20 seconds<\/p>\n
To prepare 1 liter of antiseptic, you will need*:<\/p>\n
Alcohol (ethanol) 96% – 833.3 ml
\nHydrogen peroxide 3% – 41.7 ml
\nGlycerin (glycerol) – 14.5 ml
\nSterile distilled or boiled and cooled water – 110.5 ml<\/p>\n
Preparation method: Disinfect the container in which you are going to prepare the product. For this, you can use a special sterilizer, treat it with alcohol, or place the container in boiling water for 3 minutes (if the material can withstand high temperatures). Note that the container must be hermetically sealed.<\/p>\n
Weigh the required amount of alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and glycerin and place them in a single container. Close the lid and shake well. Add distilled\/boiled water, close and shake until smooth.<\/p>\n
Dispense into a final use container (30-100 ml PET bottle, e.g. spray bottle with cap). Leave to stand for 72 hours before use.<\/p>\n
